There are six different difficulty levels in Circle Empires:
- Easy
- This is great for people who are new to strategy games
- Normal
- The recommended settings for first time players who have played a few strategy games before. Losing is very unlikely but it is not a free victory either.
- Hard
- This will be fairly challenging
- Extreme
- You will face very strong enemies straight from the beginning and it will prove to be a serious challenge.
- Nightmare
- Beating this is immensely difficult. The map is filled with strongest monsters and they are super aggressive.
- Impossible
- It is possible to win with epic skill, but only a few have ever done this. The entire world will be trying to kill you.
The chosen difficulty level affects the number as well as the average strength of the enemies the player will face.
The player chooses the difficulty level at the beginning of a game. When playing in the Monster Hunt game mode, the Impossible difficulty level cannot be chosen and the difficulty level may also affect the number of lives the boss monster has.
